Hammond XF4230 4 in Filtered Fan Box, 105 CFM, 230V

The XF4230 is the 230 V version of the 4 in filtered fan package in the XF Series. It is designed for enclosures on 230 VAC, 50/60 Hz supplies, giving panel builders and integrators the same compact cooling kit as the 115 V model with a lower running current. In a typical cooling arrangement, the fan box pulls filtered air into the enclosure and a filter grill acts as the outlet.

The ordering table lists 105 CFM free-flow air delivery at a nominal 3000 RPM, 0.09 A running current and 15 W; the drawing rates the 230 VAC version at 0.13 A. The fan uses 12 in lead wires and is shipped with air flow to pressurize, but can be user modified to exhaust. The series is noted for exceptionally quiet operation, fan motors are UR/CUR/CE approved, and the unit is CSA listed on fan only.

The case is heavy-gauge painted grey steel with a polished stainless steel front screen. Its washable aluminum filter has adhesive-coated baffle surfaces for dust and dirt collection and can be recoated after cleaning. A knurled thumb nut retains the replaceable filter; replacements are XFF4, packaged in 3s.

The fan housing is 5.63 x 5.63 x 2.38 in (143 x 143 x 60 mm), and the part page lists a size of 6.1 x 7.4 x 2 in (155 x 188 x 51 mm). The drawing shows a 187.00 mm [7.362 in] by 155.50 mm [6.122 in] assembly, a 146.05 mm [5.750 in] square cutout and 4 x Ø0.190 in holes; use #10 hardware and the included drilling template. One grill and filter are included, and an additional XFG4 exhaust grill and filter (6.13 x 7.38 in) is normally required and ordered separately.
