Hammond RASU190315BK1 2U Solid Steel Rack Shelf, 15 in Deep, 100 lb

The RASU190315BK1 is a 2U fixed cantilever rack shelf with a solid (un-vented) surface, made for supporting equipment that cannot be directly rack-mounted in standard 19-inch racks and cabinets. It suits IT and network rooms, AV and broadcast racks, telecom closets, industrial control panels and lab or test benches where a stable, universal support surface is needed.

Construction is 14-gauge mild steel with a black textured powder coat finish. The black powder coat used across the RAS Series is GREENGUARD, TSCA and RoHS compliant, supporting indoor air quality and environmental compliance requirements. A stiffener lip is folded up at the back of the shelf to add rigidity and help keep equipment in place. Because the surface is solid rather than vented, it gives maximum contact area for heavier or irregularly shaped devices.

Mounting dimensions are 3.50 in (89 mm) high by 19.30 in (490 mm) wide with a 15.00 in (381 mm) depth, occupying 2U of rack space. The drawing gives an overall front panel width of 19.01 in (483 mm), a shelf surface width of 17.50 in (444 mm), an inside width of 17.36 in (441 mm) and a 1.00 in (25 mm) lip. Suggested load capacity is 100 lbs (45 kg); Hammond states this product was tested to double the suggested load rating. Shipping weight is 8 lbs (3.63 kg).

The universal design mounts to any standard EIA-compliant rack or cabinet, and RAS shelves can be installed internally as a shelf or externally as a work surface. Eight 0.25 x 0.38 in mounting slots are provided in the front flanges; mounting hardware is not supplied with the shelf. The optional RASCLAMP clamping arm accessory is available for 2U and 3U sizes when equipment retention is required. A vented version of this size is offered as RASV190315BK1.
