Hammond RASU190312BK1 2U 12-Inch Deep Solid Rack Shelf, 100 lb

The RASU190312BK1 is a 2U fixed, solid (un-vented) rack shelf for standard 19-inch racks and cabinets. It is intended for IT, AV and industrial users who need a dependable support surface for equipment that cannot be directly rack-mounted — amplifiers and media devices, small servers, UPS units, network gear, peripherals and lab or test instruments.

Construction is mild steel in 14-gauge for this 2U size, with a suggested load capacity of 100 lbs (45 kg); the series notes that the product was tested to double the suggested load rating. The shelf surface is solid rather than vented, giving maximum continuous surface support for equipment with small or awkward footprints. A stiffener lip is folded up at the back only, and the drawing specifies a painted black textured finish. The series black powder coat finish is stated as GREENGUARD, TSCA and RoHS compliant.

Nominal size is 3.5 in x 19 in x 12 in (89 mm x 483 mm x 305 mm), with mounting dimensions of 3.50 in (89 mm) high, 19.30 in (490 mm) wide and 12.00 in (305 mm) deep. Drawing dimensions include an 18.32 in (465 mm) width across the mounting flanges, a 19.01 in (483 mm) front panel width and 17.50 in (444 mm) / 17.36 in (441 mm) top-view widths. Mounting flanges use 8 slots of 0.25 x 0.38 in for fastening to EIA-compliant rack rails.

The universal design of RASU190312BK1 lets it be installed internally as a shelf or externally as a work surface. Mounting hardware is not supplied with the shelf. The optional RASCLAMP clamping arm accessory is available for secure equipment retention in 2U and 3U sizes, replacing the legacy RACS Series.
