Hammond PJ242410RT 24x24x10 Type 4X Polyester Raised Lid Junction Box

The PJ242410RT is a square 24 x 24 x 10.13 in (610 x 610 x 257 mm) non-metallic wallmount enclosure with a solid raised lid. Its extra width over the 24 x 20 models gives more room for terminal strips, controls or instruments, and it is listed for use as an instrument enclosure, an electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, a junction box or a terminal wiring enclosure.

Ratings include UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, with IEC 60529 IP66. Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, finished gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering. Wall thickness on the drawing is 0.14 in (3.56 mm), and the material can be punched, cut or drilled.

Four 316 stainless steel lockable twist latches draw the lid down onto a formed-in-place polyurethane gasket; the fasteners include a padlocking provision, and the door rides on stainless steel hinges. Inside, six 3/8"-16 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws take the optional 18P2121 inner panel, 21.00 x 21.00 in (533 x 533 mm). The drawing gives back panel thicknesses of 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and 0.125 in fiberglass.

The enclosure mounts to a wall through four 316 stainless steel feet (larger foot size) fixed to rear 3/8"-16 brass inserts, with 0.56 in (14.30 mm) holes. It operates from 130°C to -40°C, has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index, weighs 28 lbs (12.70 kg) shipped and is RoHS and REACH compliant. PJ242410RTW adds a window cover.
