The PJ24208RT is a 24.00 x 20.00 x 8.13 in (610 x 508 x 207 mm) Type 4X wallmount enclosure with a raised solid lid, one of the large sizes in the PJ twist-latch series. It is built for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures in places that are hosed down, very wet, hot or highly corrosive.
Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors, and can be easily punched, cut or drilled. At this size the drawing shows four 316 stainless steel lockable twist latches and two 316 stainless steel hinges, sealed by a FIP polyurethane gasket, with a 0.14 in (3.58 mm) wall. The draw-type latches include a provision for padlocking.
The optional 18P2117 inner panel measures 21.00 x 17.00 in (533 x 432 mm) and mounts on six 3/8"-16 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws. Back panels on the drawing are 0.100 in aluminum, 0.105 in white steel, or 0.250 in fiberglass. Four 316 stainless steel feet attach to 3/8"-16 brass inserts on the rear with 316 stainless screws; this size uses the larger mounting foot, and mounting hardware is included.
The PJ24208RT is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed for Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has a 6.78J (5 ft/lb) impact index and ships at 24 lbs (10.89 kg).
