Hammond PJ24248RT 24x24x8 Raised Lid Type 4X Fiberglass Enclosure

The PJ24248RT is a square 24.00 x 24.00 x 8.13 in (610 x 610 x 207 mm) Type 4X wallmount enclosure with a raised solid lid. The square format gives a wide mounting area for control housings, terminal wiring enclosures, electrical junction boxes and instrument enclosures that must cope with hose-down, very wet conditions, high temperatures or highly corrosive environments.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester in gray with enhanced UV inhibitors, and can be easily punched, cut or drilled. The drawing shows four 316 stainless steel lockable twist latches, two stainless steel hinges and a FIP polyurethane gasket, with a 0.14 in (3.56 mm) wall. The draw-type latches include a provision for padlocking.

The optional 18P2121 inner panel is 21.00 x 21.00 in (533 x 533 mm) and mounts on six 3/8-16 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws. Back panel thicknesses on the drawing are 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and 0.250 in fiberglass. Four 316 stainless steel feet attach to 3/8-16 brass inserts on the rear with stainless screws; this size uses the larger mounting foot, and mounting hardware is included.

The PJ24248RT is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed for Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with NEMA Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is REACH and RoHS compliant. It operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has a 6.78J (5 ft/lb) impact index and ships at 26 lbs (11.79 kg).
