Hammond PJ1086T 10x8x6 In Twist-Latch Hinged Type 4X Fiberglass Box

The PJ1086T is a 10.13 x 8.26 x 6.13 in (257 x 210 x 156 mm) Type 4X polyester junction box with a continuous hinge door and twist latch. At 6.13 in deep it offers more internal room than the 4.13 in PJ1084T, for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures that may be hosed down, very wet, hot or in highly corrosive surroundings.

According to the series, the twist latch is a stainless steel butterfly type door fastener with a provision for padlocking; the PJ1086T drawing shows one stainless steel lockable twist latch located on center, a stainless steel hinge and a closed cell neoprene gasket. Twist latch enclosures in this series are available with bonded polycarbonate viewing windows.

The box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish and enhanced UV inhibitors, and they can be punched, cut or drilled for entries and devices. Four 10-32 threaded brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws take the optional 14R0907 inner panel, 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm), or a terminal kit; back panels are listed in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.125 in fiberglass.

Four stainless steel mounting feet attach to rear brass inserts, giving 11.84 in (300.65 mm) overall with 0.34 in (8.74 mm) holes. Ratings are UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, with 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) operation and a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index.
