Hammond PJ1084T 10x8x4 In Twist-Latch Hinged Type 4X Fiberglass Box

PJ1084T pairs the 10.13 x 8.26 x 4.13 in (257 x 210 x 105 mm) PJ Type 4X polyester junction box with a stainless steel twist latch on a continuous hinge door. Designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, it provides insulation and protection where equipment may be hosed down or be very wet, and in high-temperature or highly corrosive settings.

The series specifies stainless steel butterfly type twist latch fasteners with a provision for padlocking, and the PJ1084T drawing shows one stainless steel lockable twist latch located on center, a stainless steel hinge and a closed cell neoprene gasket. Twist latch enclosures in the series are available with bonded polycarbonate viewing windows.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors against outdoor weathering; both are easily punched, cut or drilled. Four 10-32 brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws accept the optional 14R0907 inner panel, 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm), or a terminal kit, with back panels in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, or 0.125 in fiberglass.

Four stainless steel mounting feet on rear brass inserts give 11.84 in (300.65 mm) overall with 0.34 in (8.74 mm) holes. The PJ1084T holds UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 ratings, complies with IEC 60529 IP66, operates between 130°C and -40°C (266°F to -40°F) and has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. It ships at 5 lbs (2.27 kg) and is REACH and RoHS compliant.
