Hammond PJ1084L 10x8x4 In Snap-Latch Hinged Type 4X Fiberglass Box

The PJ1084L is a 10.13 x 8.26 x 4.13 in (257 x 210 x 105 mm) Type 4X polyester junction box with a continuous hinge door and snap latch. Its shallow 4.13 in depth suits instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures that need protection from hose-down, very wet, hot or highly corrosive conditions.

The door hangs on a continuous stainless steel hinge and closes with a stainless steel lockable snap latch located on center, a draw type fastener that includes a provision for padlocking. The PJ1084L drawing shows a closed cell neoprene gasket; the series describes it as captive and oil resistant.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester, gray, with enhanced UV inhibitors, and are easily punched, cut or drilled. Four 10-32 threaded brass inserts with plated carbon steel screws accept the optional 14R0907 inner panel, 8.75 x 6.88 in (222 x 175 mm), or a terminal kit; back panels are offered in 0.100 in aluminum, 0.075 in white steel and galvannealed, and 0.125 in fiberglass.

Four stainless steel mounting feet attach to rear brass inserts with stainless screws, giving 11.84 in (300.65 mm) overall and 0.34 in (8.74 mm) holes. The enclosure is UL 508A and cUL (CSA 22.2 No. 94) listed for Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, complies with IEC 60529 IP66, operates from 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F) and has a 6.78 J (5 ft/lb) impact index. Shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg); REACH and RoHS compliant. A deeper 6.13 in version is PJ1086L.
