Hammond HYPB1SS 1-Hole 30mm Hygienic Stainless Pushbutton Enclosure

The HYPB1SS is a single-hole hygienic Type 4X stainless steel pushbutton enclosure for a 30mm pushbutton or indicator. It belongs to the HYPB Series, designed to enclose operator devices while protecting them in harsh, hygienic environments where equipment is cleaned by hose-down. For 22mm devices, the same enclosure is offered as the HYMPB1SS.

The enclosure is formed 304 stainless steel sloped 3° on all four sides, so water will not rest on top whichever way it is mounted. Seams are continuously welded and ground smooth, and the cover and enclosure carry a natural #4 dairy finish. A silicone gasket mounts around the entire door edge for easy cleaning and can be removed and re-installed; the replacement part is HYG85. The hex head screw cover is completely removable for modifications, and a bonding stud on the door and grounding stud in the enclosure are provided.

It measures 7.94 in (202 mm) high by 4.88 in (124 mm) wide by 4.00 in (102 mm) deep, nominal 8 x 5 x 4 in. The drawing shows a 7.12 x 4.19 in door, a 6.00 x 3.10 in opening, 5.37 x 2.31 in of clear space available on the door and 3.43 in of usable depth. The notched 30mm hole measures 1.21 in on the drawing.

No wall mounting holes are pre-drilled, so the HYPB1SS can be welded in place or mounted on stand-offs. The series is rated UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 12, 4, 4X, complies with NEMA 3R, 12, 4, 4X and IEC 60529 IP69/IP69K, and meets NSF/ANSI 169. Shipping weight is 8 lb (3.63 kg) in a box.
