Hammond 1589T48F116 48-Inch 16-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A 5-20R

The 1589T48F116 is a 48 in vertical basic PDU (power outlet strip) with 16 NEMA 5-20R receptacles, rated 20A at 120VAC single-phase. It is built for IT, AV and facilities teams who need straightforward rack power distribution in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, and it can also be mounted horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic ends, finished in Natural. This version carries a pilot light rather than an on/off switch, so the power indicator confirms the circuit is live, and a resettable 20 Amp circuit breaker protects the strip. The heavy-duty black receptacles are rated 20A, 125VAC (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot), are 1 in square and are equally spaced along the length of the strip. All 16 outlets face the front; there are no rear outlets, no rotated outlets, no surge protection and no metering.

Power is supplied by an integral 6 ft, heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord suited to extreme temperature ranges, terminating in a molded NEMA 5-20P straight blade plug. Operating temperature range is -20 C to +60 C. Overall assembly length is 1231.09 mm (48.468 in) with a 1224.28 mm (48.200 in) extrusion; shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories — allow sufficient depth behind the rear rails for vertical mounting to the struts.
