Hammond 1589T48G1 48-Inch 8-Outlet 20A Vertical PDU, Pilot Light

The 1589T48G1 is a 48 in. vertical basic power distribution unit designed for IT, AV and industrial users who need to distribute 20A, 120VAC single-phase power inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks. It can also be mounted horizontally above a work bench. This version carries a power indicator (pilot) light rather than an on/off switch, plus a resettable 20A circuit breaker.

Eight heavy-duty black NEMA 5-20R receptacles (single T-slot, rated 20A/125VAC) are equally spaced over the length of the strip, with 1 in. square receptacle openings spaced 5.000 in. (127.00 mm) apart. All eight outlets face the front; there are no rear outlets and no rotated outlets. Power comes in through an integral molded NEMA 5-20P straight-blade plug on a 15 ft heavy-duty 12/3 SJT cord suited to extreme temperature ranges, with an operating range of -20 C to +60 C.

Construction is a low-profile, rugged, lightweight anodized aluminum extrusion in a natural finish with ABS plastic end caps. Nominal strip length is 48.00 in. (1219 mm); drawing overall dimensions are 1231.19 mm (48.472 in.) with the outlet section at 1224.28 mm (48.200 in.), and a slim 29.18 mm (1.149 in.) profile from the end view. Shipping weight is 5.5 lbs (2.49 kg).

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the 1589T48G1; order P/N 1585CLIP for an additional hardware kit. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The unit is UL Listed to UL1363, CSA certified, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases in the USA, and manufactured in North America.
