Hammond 1589T48D116 48" 16-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A L5-20P

The 1589T48D116 is a 48 in (1219 mm) vertical basic PDU with 16 NEMA 5-20R outlets, rated 20A at 120VAC single-phase. It is built for IT, AV and facilities teams who need straightforward, unmetered power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or mounted horizontally above a work bench. This version carries a power indicator (pilot) light rather than an on/off switch, so power status is visible at a glance; the equivalent switched model in the series is 1589H48D116.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, supplied in a natural finish. The 16 heavy-duty black receptacles are 1 in square, equally spaced over the length of the strip, and are rated 20A/125VAC (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot). All 16 outlets face the front; there are no rear outlets and no rotated outlets. A resettable 20 Amp circuit breaker is built in. Overall assembly length on the drawing is 1231.09 mm (48.468 in).

Power is supplied by an integral 15 ft heavy duty 12 gauge cord (12/3 SJT) suited to extreme temperature ranges, terminated in a molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug. Operating temperature range is -20 C to +60 C. The cord is unshielded and the unit does not include surge protection or metering.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the 1589T48D116; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The unit is UL/cUL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, RoHS and REACH compliant, and manufactured in North America.
