Hammond 1589T48D1 48" Vertical PDU, 8 Outlets, Pilot Light

The 1589T48D1 is a 48 in. vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC, built for IT, AV and electrical professionals who need clean, repeatable power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks. It carries eight heavy-duty black NEMA 5-20R receptacles, all on the front face, with a power indicator light instead of an on/off switch and a resettable 20 Amp circuit breaker.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, keeping the strip rugged but light at a 5.5 lbs (2.49 kg) shipping weight. The finish is Natural. The receptacles are 1 in. square, equally spaced over the length of the strip at 127.00 mm [5.000 in] typical centres, so equipment cords land predictably along a full-height cabinet upright.

Power input is a heavy duty 15 ft, 12/3 SJT 12 gauge cord suited to extreme temperature ranges, terminated in an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug. Operating temperature range is -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C. The extrusion measures 1224.28 mm [48.200 in] with an overall assembly length of 1231.19 mm [48.472 in]; the series ordering table lists the nominal strip length as 48.00 in (1219 mm).

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with 1589T48D1; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Per the series notes, outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs interfere with mounted equipment and accessories — allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails to mount vertically to the struts. The unit is UL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14 (UL file E166039), cULus marked, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, RoHS and REACH compliant, and manufactured in North America.
