Hammond 1589T42C1 42-Inch 7-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A L5-20P

The 1589T42C1 is a 42 in long vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC, built for IT, AV and industrial users who need clean power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks. It carries seven 20A/125V NEMA 5-20R receptacles, a power indicator (pilot light) rather than a switch, and a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, giving a rugged but light weight assembly in a natural finish. The 1 in square receptacles are equally spaced over the length of the strip on 5.000 in (127.00 mm) typical centres, all seven facing the front with none on the rear. Power is supplied by a heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord, 6 ft long, suited to extreme temperature ranges and terminated in an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug.

Nominal strip length is 42.00 in (1067 mm), with the drawing showing an overall assembly length of 42.468 in (1078.69 mm), a body width of 1.616 in (41.05 mm) and a depth of 1.149 in (29.18 mm). Shipping weight is 5 lbs (2.27 kg). A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional hardware kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP.

1589T42C1 is UL Listed to UL1363 and CSA Certified to C22.2 (No. 21-95, 42-99) under UL file E166039, with operating temperature from -20 C to +60 C. It is TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA compliant and manufactured in North America.

Per the series notes, outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The strip can also be mounted horizontally, for example above a work bench.
