Hammond SHG14003 45W PTC Enclosure Heater, 110-250V DIN Rail

The SHG14003 is the 45 W model in the SHG Series of PTC enclosure heaters. It is the highest-output option in the series' short 2.60 in (66 mm) body, giving panel builders and facilities teams more heat than the 30 W version without moving to a longer housing. Its job is to protect enclosed electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment from low temperatures, condensation and corrosion.

The heating element is a self-regulating PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resistor inside an anodized extruded aluminum heating body. Because the surface temperature is self-regulating, the heater helps maintain a stable temperature environment so critical components perform with consistent reliability for longer periods.

The SHG14003 is rated 45 W at 68°F (20°C) ambient, operates on AC 110-250 V, and has a maximum inrush current of 1.8 A, a figure to account for when sizing the circuit and the controlling thermostat or humidistat contact. Pair it with a Normally Closed thermostat or humidistat for automatic control. Push-type terminals accept stranded and solid wire from AWG 20 to AWG 16 (0.5-1.5 mm²).

Mounting is by clip onto a 35 mm DIN rail, with the clip included. Drawing dimensions are a 2.000 in (50.8 mm) by 2.800 in (71.1 mm) profile and a 2.560 in (65 mm) length. It is Protection Class I (test voltage 1600 V) and IP20, carries UL Recognized Component, cUL Recognized Component and CE approvals, is RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships at 1 lb (0.45 kg).
