Hammond SHG14005 60W PTC Enclosure Heater, 5.5 in DIN Rail

The SHG14005 is a 60 W PTC enclosure heater and the first model in the SHG Series to use the mid-length 5.50 in (140 mm) body. It is aimed at electricians, integrators and OEM panel designers who need to protect enclosed electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical equipment from low temperatures, condensation and corrosion in cabinets that need more heat than the short-body 30-45 W units provide.

A self-regulating PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) resistor provides the heat, and an anodized extruded aluminum heating body spreads it. This approach maintains a stable temperature environment inside the enclosure, helping critical components perform with consistent reliability for longer periods.

Rated 60 W at 68°F (20°C) ambient, the SHG14005 operates on AC 110-250 V with a maximum inrush current of 2.5 A. It is intended to be switched by a Normally Closed thermostat or humidistat. Connections are made with push-type terminals for stranded or solid wire from AWG 20 to AWG 16 (0.5-1.5 mm²).

The heater clips onto a 35 mm DIN rail using the included clip. It is Protection Class I (test voltage 1600 V), IP20, UL Recognized Component, cUL Recognized Component and CE approved, and RoHS and REACH compliant.
