Hammond RP1610C 254 x 204 x 90 mm Polycarbonate Enclosure, Clear Lid

The RP1610C is a large polycarbonate enclosure with a clear lid, 254 x 204 x 90 mm (10.00 x 8.03 x 3.54 in) according to the ordering table and drawing. A see-through cover over a large interior makes it useful for control panels, data loggers and other equipment where displays or LEDs must be read without opening the box.

The drawing describes it as Polycarbonate Off-White with Clear Lid (UL94-V2), while the part page lists the colour as Light Gray. The part page lists a nominal size of 250 x 200 x 95 mm (9.84 x 7.87 x 3.74 in); the ordering table and drawing give 254 x 204 x 90 mm (10.00 x 8.03 x 3.54 in) overall.

A two piece tongue & groove lid with a field-installed rubber gasket gives IP65 protection, and four M3.5 stainless steel screws tighten into corrosion resistant bushings at 30-35 cN.m.

The RP1610C comes bagged with box, lid, string gasket, four PCB screws and four lid screws. It is RoHS and REACH compliant. STC580 and STA580 inner panels and the RP161GASKET replacement 2-pack are listed for this size. Hammond notes that some chemicals, including acetone, ketones, thread locking compounds and cutting fluids, can damage or weaken plastic.
