Hammond PJ12124T 12 x 12 x 4 in Twist Latch Polyester Junction Box

For a square, low-profile enclosure with twist-latch access, the PJ12124T is a Type 4X fiberglass reinforced polyester junction box listed at 12.13 x 12.13 x 4.13 in (308 x 308 x 105 mm) in the series ordering table, with a nominal part-page size of 12.32 x 12.32 x 4 in (313 x 313 x 102 mm). It serves as an electrical junction box, terminal wiring enclosure, instrument enclosure or control housing where equipment may be hosed down, very wet, hot or exposed to highly corrosive conditions.

Construction is compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester for both box and cover, finished in gray with enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering. It is easily punched, cut or drilled, and the drawing shows a 0.13 in (3.30 mm) wall. Two lockable 316 stainless steel butterfly-type twist latches secure the door on its continuous 316 stainless steel hinge, and the latches include a padlocking provision. A captive oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket provides a positive seal.

The optional 14R1111 inner panel (10.75 x 10.88 in, 273 x 276 mm) mounts on four #10-32 threaded brass inserts, with hardware included; panels come in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass. Four 316 stainless steel feet attach to rear brass inserts to hang the PJ12124T on a wall.

It is UL 508A listed Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13, cUL listed to those types per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. The operating range is 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), the impact index is 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), and it is RoHS and REACH compliant with a 7 lbs (3.18 kg) shipping weight.
