Hammond PJ12126T 12 x 12 x 6 in Twist Latch Polyester Junction Box

The PJ12126T is a square Type 4X junction box in fiberglass reinforced polyester with twist-latch closure. The series ordering table gives its size as 12.13 x 12.13 x 6.13 in (308 x 308 x 156 mm), and the part page lists a nominal 12.32 x 12.32 x 6 in (313 x 313 x 152 mm). Typical roles include instrument enclosures, electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring enclosures and electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings where equipment may be hosed down, very wet, hot or in highly corrosive surroundings.

Box and cover are compression molded fiberglass reinforced polyester with a gray finish, carrying enhanced UV inhibitors for outdoor weathering. Openings are easy to punch, cut or drill, and the drawing shows a 0.13 in (3.30 mm) wall thickness. Two lockable 316 stainless steel butterfly-type twist latches hold the door, which pivots on a continuous 316 stainless steel hinge; the latches include a provision for padlocking. A captive oil resistant FIP polyurethane gasket delivers a positive seal.

Inside, four #10-32 brass inserts are ready for the optional 14R1111 inner panel (10.75 x 10.88 in, 273 x 276 mm) in white powder coated steel, unfinished aluminum or fiberglass, with mounting hardware included. Four 316 stainless steel feet fasten to rear brass inserts for wall mounting.

The PJ12126T is listed UL 508A Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and cUL Type 1, 2, 3, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 per CSA 22.2 No. 94, and complies with IEC 60529 IP66. It handles 130°C to -40°C (266°F to -40°F), has an impact index of 6.78 J (5 ft/lb), is RoHS and REACH compliant and weighs 8 lbs (3.63 kg) for shipping.
