Hammond EJ444S16 4x4x4 316 Stainless Quarter-Turn Type 4X Junction Box

The EJ444S16 gives the 4 x 4 in Eclipse Junior footprint a full 4 in of depth in 316 stainless steel. This Type 4X junction box is designed for instrument enclosures, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housings, electrical junction boxes and terminal wiring enclosures, protecting equipment that may be hosed down, very wet, or exposed to corrosion.

Size is 4 in H x 4 in W x 4 in D (102 x 102 x 102 mm). As a 4 x 4 in model, it has no inner panel (listed N/A). The drawing gives a 3.25 in door opening width and a 4.16 in door width. It mounts with 14 gauge welded brackets and ships boxed at 3 lbs (1.36 kg).

Body and cover are formed from 16 gauge 316 stainless steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes, in a natural smooth brushed finish. The formed lip on the enclosure and a seamless poured-in place gasket exclude flowing liquids and contaminants. The continuously hinged cover opens 180° on stainless steel hinges, and 316 stainless quarter turn latches add safety because the slot requires a tool for opening. A bonding stud on the door, a grounding stud on the enclosure and grounding hardware are included.

The EJ444S16 is UL 508A and CSA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 rated (UL File E65324, CSA LR21001), complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66, and is RoHS and REACH compliant. For high temperature applications a gasket retainer may be required; refer to the factory.
