The 1599KGYBAT is a light gray, flame retardant 1599K handheld enclosure fitted with a battery door. It is suited to portable, battery-powered products where the housing material must be rated UL94 V-0 and a wide top surface is needed for a keypad or display.
Box and lid are molded from flame retardant ABS with a UL flammability rating of 94 V-0. The lid attaches with M3 - 0.5 x 12 mm machine screws into integral brass bushings, and lap joint construction helps protect against dust and splashing water. The recessed top accepts a membrane display or key pad.
Nominal size is 220 x 140 x 41 mm (8.66 x 5.5 x 1.6 in); the series table lists a 40 mm depth. Inside the 1599KGYBAT there is 213.58 x 133.58 mm of floor space and 33.00 mm of height. The battery compartment limits the maximum PC board to 131 x 140.5 mm (board not supplied), mounted on standoffs that accept #4 self-tapping screws.
The purchased assembly includes box, lid, battery door and 4 cover screws; recommended torque is 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m). Optional battery holder kits for 1599K battery door enclosures cover AA, AAA and 9V cells. A general purpose version is available as 1599KSGYBAT. RoHS and REACH compliant, shipped shrink wrapped.
