The 1599KSGY is the economical, general purpose version of the grey 1599K handheld enclosure. It gives product designers the same wide 220 x 140 mm handheld footprint as the flame retardant 1599KGY, for applications where a flame retardant material is not required.
Box and lid are molded from general purpose ABS with a UL94 HB flame rating and assembled with #4 x 5/8 in self-tapping screws into plastic posts. Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and this version without a battery door is rated IP54. The top is recessed for a membrane display or key pad.
The 1599KSGY has a nominal size of 8.66 x 5.5 x 1.6 in (220 x 140 x 41 mm), with 40 mm depth in the series table. Its inside measures 213.58 x 133.58 mm with 33.00 mm height. PC board standoffs on the inside top and bottom accept #4 self-tapping screws and support a board up to 131 x 211 mm (board not supplied).
The assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws with a recommended torque of 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m). Two keyhole knockouts inside the base enable wall mounting. Shipped shrink wrapped; RoHS and REACH compliant.
