The 1599KBKBAT combines the wide 1599K handheld footprint with a battery door, in black flame retardant ABS. It is intended for engineers building portable, battery-powered instruments that need a UL94 V-0 rated housing and room for a large display or keypad.
Box and lid are molded from flame retardant ABS with a UL flammability rating of 94 V-0 and secured with M3 - 0.5 x 12 mm machine screws into integral brass bushings. Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the top is recessed for a membrane display or key pad.
The nominal size is 220 x 140 x 41 mm (8.66 x 5.5 x 1.6 in), with 40 mm depth in the series table. Inside dimensions are 213.58 x 133.58 mm with 33.00 mm of height. With the battery compartment in place, the maximum PC board is 131 x 140.5 mm (board not supplied), mounted on standoffs on the inside top and bottom that accept #4 self-tapping screws.
The 1599KBKBAT assembly includes box, lid, battery door and 4 cover screws, with a recommended torque of 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m). Optional battery holder kits listed for 1599K battery door enclosures cover 1 to 4 AA cells, 1 to 4 AAA cells or a single 9V cell. It ships shrink wrapped and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
