The 1599HSGYBAT is a light gray, general purpose 1599H handheld enclosure with a built-in battery door. It suits designers of portable, battery-powered instruments who want an ergonomic handheld housing and do not need flame retardant material. The matching flame retardant model is 1599HGYBAT.
Box and lid are molded from general purpose ABS rated UL94 HB and assembled with self-tapping screws into plastic posts. The top is recessed for a membrane display or key pad, and the lap joint construction helps keep out dust and splashing water. Because the battery compartment takes up part of the interior, the drawing shows a maximum PC board of 96.5 x 140 mm (board not supplied).
Nominal size is 8.66 x 4.33 x 1.73 in (220 x 110 x 44 mm), with a 45 mm depth in the series table. Inside dimensions on the drawing are 213.71 mm long, 103.70 mm wide and 38.25 mm high. Standoffs on the inside top and bottom accept #4 self-tapping screws.
The 1599HSGYBAT assembly includes the box, lid, battery door and 4 cover screws; recommended torque is 42-57 ozf.in (30-40 cN.m). Optional battery holder kits (BH1AAW through BH4AAW, BH1AAAW through BH4AAAW and BS61) are listed as fitting 1599H battery door enclosures and include the holder, wires and foam anti-rattle pad. It ships shrink wrapped and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
