The 1598RHBK is one of the two largest shielded cases in the 1598R series and the slimmer of the pair: 281 mm long, 200 mm wide and 41 mm deep in the ordering table. It suits large, flat PCB assemblies - control boards, interface panels and desktop instruments - that need a low profile and built-in EMI/RFI shielding.
The interior of both halves is sprayed with an RFI/EMI copper conductive coating that the coating manufacturer rates at more than 75 dB attenuation from 1 MHz to 1 GHz. The shell is flame retardant ABS (UL94 V-0), designed to meet IP54, in matte textured black.
Drawing dimensions are 280.89 x 199.89 x 41.00 mm overall (part page nominal 280 x 200 x 40 mm) with a 269.69 x 190.16 x 33.50 mm inner box. Boards up to 268.70 x 184.30 mm sit on eight 3.51 mm bosses. The brushed aluminum 5052-H32 front and rear panels have a 185.89 x 30.50 mm viewing area.
The 1598RHBK is secured with M3 machine screws into brass bushings for repeated assembly, and comes with top and bottom covers, front and end aluminum panels, 2 cover screws and 4 rubber feet. Spare panel pairs are 1598PLH-AL and the matching tilt bail kit is 1598TH2.
