The 1598RJBK offers the largest interior volume in the 1598R shielded family, measuring 280 x 200 x 76 mm in the ordering table. It is intended for bigger desktop instruments and control units whose electronics need both height and EMI/RFI protection.
A copper conductive coating is masked and sprayed inside each half; the coating manufacturer specifies more than 75 dB attenuation from 1 MHz to 1 GHz. The enclosure is flame retardant ABS carrying UL94 V-0, is designed to meet IP54, and is finished in matte textured black.
According to the drawing, overall size is 280.10 x 199.50 x 75.80 mm (part page nominal 280 x 200 x 76 mm) and the inner box is 269.60 x 189.64 x 68.00 mm. Horizontal boards up to 268.60 x 184.50 mm locate on eight 3.51 mm bosses; two sets of molded 1.5 mm (0.062") guides take vertical cards. The brushed aluminum 5052-H32 end panels provide a 185.06 x 67.00 mm viewing area.
Halves close with M3 Phillips machine screws into integral brass bushings. The 1598RJBK includes top and bottom covers, front and end aluminum panels, 2 cover screws and 4 rubber feet. Extra panel pairs are 1598PLJ-AL; the listed tilt bail kit is 1598TH2.
