The 1598RFBK is a long, low-profile shielded instrument case: 250 mm in length but only 41 mm deep in the ordering table. It is aimed at engineers packaging long, flat circuit boards where a slim desktop profile matters and EMI/RFI suppression is needed.
Inside each half, a masked and sprayed copper conductive coating provides shielding; the coating manufacturer states more than 75 dB attenuation from 1 MHz to 1 GHz. The enclosure is molded from flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0, is designed to meet IP54, and is finished in matte textured black.
The drawing gives 249.70 x 159.25 x 40.90 mm overall (part page nominal 250 x 160 x 40 mm) and an inner box of 239.35 x 150.21 x 33.70 mm. The maximum board is 238.35 x 144.71 mm on four 3.51 mm bosses. Front and rear panels are brushed aluminum 5052-H32 with a 146.15 x 32.70 mm viewing area.
M3 Phillips machine screws thread into tapped brass bushings, suited to products that are opened often. The 1598RFBK includes top and bottom covers, front and end aluminum panels, 2 cover screws and 4 rubber feet. Extra panel pairs are 1598PLF-AL; the 1598TH1 tilt bail kit fits this size.
