Hammond 1594ESGY Economy Light Gray ABS Heavy Duty Box, 167mm

The 1594ESGY, listed as a heavy duty plastic box, is the light gray economy version of the E size in the 1594 Heavy Duty ABS Enclosures series. It offers the series' largest footprint for printed circuit boards and instrument assemblies in general purpose ABS, for applications that do not require flame retardant plastic.

The enclosure carries a UL94 HB flame rating. Its gray is listed on the drawing as Grey RAL 7035 for the non-flame retardant version, in a matte textured finish, and the thick-wall design averages 0.13 in (3.3 mm) across the series. Economy versions secure the lid with self-tapping screws into plastic posts; the matching replacement pack is 1594TS100 (100 pieces, #4 x 1 in).

Listed dimensions are 6.57 in x 4.2 in x 2.56 in (167 mm x 107 mm x 65 mm). The drawing shows an assembly of 166.97 mm [6.57 in] by 106.97 mm [4.21 in], 64.85 mm [2.55 in] high.

The 1594ESGY is rated IP54; the series states economy versions can reach IP66 with gaskets and screws with o-rings, and 1594EGASKET is the E-size gasket. It is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.56 lbs (0.25 kg). Hammond offers factory modification such as milling, drilling and printing, with solid models in .stp or .x_t. As with all ABS, some chemicals such as acetone, strong solvents and thread lockers can damage the plastic.
