Hammond 1594EGY 167mm Light Gray Flame Retardant ABS Enclosure

The 1594EGY is the light gray standard version of the 1594 E size, the largest body in the Heavy Duty ABS Enclosures series. This rugged electronic instrument enclosure is ideally suited for mounting printed circuit boards and suits OEM engineers and integrators housing larger boards in a light gray case (Grey RAL 7018 on the drawing).

It is molded in flame retardant ABS plastic rated UL94 V-0, with a matte textured finish and a heavy duty wall averaging 0.13 in (3.3 mm) across the series. The lid is fastened by four M3 x 0.5 - 0.71 in (18 mm) long Phillips machine screws, which thread into M3x0.5 - 6H x 5.75 holes in brass inserts shown on the drawing.

Listed dimensions are 6.57 in x 4.2 in x 2.56 in (167 mm x 107 mm x 65 mm). The drawing details an assembly of 166.97 mm [6.57 in] by 106.97 mm [4.21 in] and 64.85 mm [2.55 in] high.

The 1594EGY is rated IP54. Where more protection is needed, the series allows an upgrade to IP66 with gaskets and screws with o-rings, which for this size are 1594EGASKET and 1594WMS100. Replacement standard screws are 1594MS100. The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant, weighs 0.63 lbs (0.29 kg) shipped in shrink wrap, and Hammond can factory modify it (milling, drilling, printing); solid models are available in .stp or .x_t.
