Hammond 1594ESBK Economy Black General Purpose ABS Case, 167mm

The 1594ESBK is the black economy version of the E size in the 1594 Heavy Duty ABS Enclosures series, supplied as a case and lid. It shares the series' rugged, thick-wall body ideally suited for mounting printed circuit boards, but uses general purpose ABS plastic, a fit for builders who need a large, sturdy enclosure without a V-0 flame retardant requirement.

This part is rated UL94 HB. The lid is fastened with self-tapping screws into plastic posts, as the drawing notes for non-flame retardant ABS; replacement self-tapping screws are 1594TS100, a pack of 100 listed as #4 x 1 in. The black color is RAL 9011 on the drawing, with a matte textured finish, and the series average wall thickness is 0.13 in (3.3 mm).

The 1594ESBK measures 6.57 in x 4.2 in x 2.56 in (167 mm x 107 mm x 65 mm), matching the series ordering table. On the drawing, the assembly is 166.97 mm [6.57 in] long, 106.97 mm [4.21 in] wide and 64.85 mm [2.55 in] high.

It is rated IP54, and economy versions can be upgraded to IP66 with gaskets and screws with o-rings; the E-size gasket is 1594EGASKET. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.56 lbs (0.25 kg). Factory modification (milling, drilling, printing) is offered, and solid models are available in .stp or .x_t.
