Hammond 1594DWGY 132mm Water-Tight Light Gray ABS Enclosure

The 1594DWGY is the light gray, water-tight member of the D size in the 1594 Heavy Duty ABS Enclosures series. Designed as a rugged electronic instrument enclosure ideally suited for mounting printed circuit boards, it gives equipment builders and integrators a sealed light gray housing for electronics that may see moisture.

Water-tight versions are molded in flame retardant ABS plastic, and this part carries a UL94 V-0 flame rating. The part page lists IP65; the series literature states water-tight versions have been tested to and meet IP66. Construction follows the heavy duty thick-wall design with a series average wall thickness of 0.13 in (3.3 mm) and a matte textured finish.

The enclosure measures 5.18 in x 2.6 in x 2.17 in (132 mm x 66 mm x 55 mm); the series ordering table lists 131.5 x 66 x 55 mm. The drawing gives an overall box footprint of 131.50 mm [5.177 in] by 66.30 mm [2.610 in], an inner box height of 49.30 mm [1.941 in] and a narrowest inside dimension of 56.97 mm [2.243 in].

Four M3 x 0.5 - 0.71 in (18 mm) long Phillips machine screws thread into integral brass bushings to hold the lid. Service parts are the 1594WMS100 pack of 100 machine screws with o-rings and the 1594DGASKET silicone gasket kit, and circuit board holders are listed under the 1594Z Series. The 1594DWGY is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 0.31 lbs (0.14 kg).
