Hammond 1594DSGY Economy Gray General Purpose ABS Box, 132 x 66 mm

The 1594DSGY, described as a heavy duty plastic box, is the light gray economy version of the D size in the 1594 Heavy Duty ABS Enclosures series. It suits designers and hobbyist-to-OEM builders who need a sturdy enclosure for printed circuit boards without the flame retardant grade of the standard models.

Economy versions are molded in general purpose ABS plastic; this part carries a UL94 HB flame rating. The gray on the drawing for the non-flame retardant version is Grey RAL 7035, in a matte textured finish. Walls follow the series heavy duty design with an average thickness of 0.13 in (3.3 mm). The lid is held with self-tapping screws driven into plastic posts, and replacements are sold as 1594TS100 (pack of 100, #4 x 1 in).

Listed size is 5.18 in x 2.6 in x 2.17 in (132 mm x 66 mm x 55 mm); the ordering table gives 131.5 x 66 x 55 mm. Drawing values include an inner box height of 49.30 mm [1.941 in] and a narrowest inside dimension of 56.97 mm [2.243 in]. Circuit board holders can be added from the 1594Z Series.

Rated IP54, the 1594DSGY can be upgraded to IP66 with gaskets (1594DGASKET) and screws with o-rings, per the series. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.28 lbs (0.13 kg), and Hammond offers factory modification such as milling, drilling and printing.
