Hammond 1594DSBK Economy Black General Purpose ABS Box, 132 x 66 mm

The 1594DSBK is the economy black version of the 1594 D-size Heavy Duty ABS enclosure. It keeps the same rugged thick-wall body intended for mounting printed circuit boards, but is molded in general purpose ABS plastic, making it a practical choice for projects and products that do not call for a flame retardant V-0 material.

The part carries a UL94 HB flame rating. Economy versions use self-tapping screws into plastic posts to secure the lid instead of machine screws and brass bushings; replacement self-tapping screws are sold as 1594TS100 in packs of 100 (#4 x 1 in per the drawing). The series average wall thickness is 0.13 in (3.3 mm), and the matte textured finish is black, listed as RAL 9011.

Listed size is 5.18 in x 2.6 in x 2.17 in (132 mm x 66 mm x 55 mm), with the series table giving 131.5 x 66 x 55 mm. The drawing shows an inner box height of 49.30 mm [1.941 in] and a narrowest inside dimension of 56.97 mm [2.243 in]. Circuit board holders are available in the 1594Z Series.

The 1594DSBK is rated IP54, and the series notes economy versions can be upgraded to IP66 with gaskets and screws with o-rings; the D-size gasket is 1594DGASKET. It is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.28 lbs (0.13 kg), and can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing.
