Hammond 1594DGY 132mm Light Gray Flame Retardant ABS Enclosure

The 1594DGY is the light gray standard version of the 1594 D-size Heavy Duty ABS enclosure. Built as a rugged electronic instrument enclosure ideally suited for mounting printed circuit boards, it suits OEM equipment designers and integrators who prefer a light gray housing, listed on the drawing as Grey RAL 7018.

It is molded in flame retardant ABS plastic with a UL94 V-0 flame rating. Walls are heavy duty, with a series average thickness of 0.13 in (3.3 mm), and the surface has a matte textured finish. The lid attaches with four M3 x 0.5 - 0.71 in (18 mm) long Phillips machine screws that thread into integral brass bushings rather than into bare plastic, which suits enclosures that are opened for service.

Size is listed as 5.18 in x 2.6 in x 2.17 in (132 mm x 66 mm x 55 mm), and 131.5 x 66 x 55 mm in the series table. Internally, the drawing shows an inner box height of 49.30 mm [1.941 in] and a narrowest inside dimension of 56.97 mm [2.243 in]. Circuit board holders are covered by the 1594Z Series.

The 1594DGY is rated IP54. For wet locations, the series allows an upgrade to IP66 with the 1594DGASKET gasket and 1594WMS100 o-ring screws. Replacement standard screws are 1594MS100. The enclosure is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.3 lbs (0.14 kg), and can be factory modified by milling, drilling or printing.
