The 1590WQ is a square, watertight diecast aluminum enclosure measuring 4.72 x 4.72 x 1.34 in (120 x 120 x 34 mm). The natural aluminum, no-flange version of the 1590Q, it is designed to meet IP65 and suits engineers housing square or near-square circuit boards that need protection from dust and splashing water.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and this part has an unpainted natural aluminum surface that is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet helps keep out dust and splashing water, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) makes P.C. board mounting easier.
The low profile leaves an inside height of 28.90 mm (1.138 in), with inside length and width of 113.27 mm (4.460 in) and 113.77 mm (4.479 in). The listed maximum P.C. board size is 112.82 x 112.82 mm.
A silicone gasket is supplied with this liquid resistant enclosure, loose inside the box rather than pre-installed. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws (4X 6-32 UNC threads); recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
