Hammond 1590G 100x50x25mm Natural Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590G is a slim, unflanged diecast aluminum box measuring 3.94 in x 1.97 in x 1 in (100 mm x 50 mm x 25 mm). It is a general purpose electronic instrument enclosure for designers, hobbyists and OEM builders who need a compact metal housing for a small circuit board, sensor interface or handheld module.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough but easy to drill and mill. This natural version is left unpainted and vibra finished, giving a smooth surface with no sharp edges. The lid meets the box in a lap joint that protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard enclosure is designed to meet IP54.

The manufacturer drawing gives outside dimensions of 100.00 x 50.00 x 25.50 mm [3.937 x 1.969 x 1.004 in] and inside dimensions of 95.23 mm [3.749 in] long, 45.23 mm [1.781 in] wide and 21.00 mm [.827 in] high. Maximum P.C. board size is listed as 94.23 mm by 44.23 mm, and side walls have a draft angle of 2° or less so boards sit easily. The ordering table lists the height as 1.02 in (26 mm) and the lid itself is 0.16 in (4 mm).

Each 1590G ships shrink wrapped with box, lid and four 6-32 UNC cover screws for its factory-tapped holes; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. Need IP65? Order the 1590WG water-tight version or fit the 1590GGASKET kit. It is RoHS and REACH compliant.
