The 1590G2 is the taller companion to the 1590G: the same 100 mm x 50 mm footprint but 31 mm high, for a nominal size of 3.94 in x 1.97 in x 1.22 in. It is a general purpose diecast aluminum enclosure for engineers and builders who need extra component height inside a compact, unflanged metal box.
The drawing gives outside dimensions of 100.00 x 50.00 x 31.00 mm [3.937 x 1.969 x 1.220 in] and an interior of 94.92 mm [3.737 in] long, 44.92 mm [1.768 in] wide and 27.00 mm [1.063 in] high. The maximum P.C. board is 93.82 mm x 43.82 mm. Side walls have a low draft angle of 2° or less, and the lid is 0.16 in (4 mm) high.
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The natural version is unpainted and vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Where lid and box meet, lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard enclosure is designed to meet IP54.
The 1590G2 is supplied shrink wrapped with box, lid and four 6-32 UNC cover screws in factory-tapped holes; the recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The water-tight version is 1590WG2, and the 1590GGASKET kit fits this size for an IP65 upgrade. RoHS and REACH compliant, 0.25 lbs (0.11 kg).
