Hammond 1590BYL Yellow 112x61x31mm Painted Diecast Stomp Box

The 1590BYL is the classic 1590B-size diecast aluminum stomp box enclosure, factory powder coated in a yellow finish matched to RAL 1021. The series table lists it at 112 x 61 x 31 mm (4.41 x 2.40 x 1.22 in), while the part page gives 4.43 x 2.38 x 1.22 in (113 x 60 x 31 mm). It suits pedal builders, experimenters and small-batch instrument makers who want a coloured case with no painting step.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, a tough material that is still easy to machine. The smooth glossy polyester powder coat gives a lasting finish, even after machining, and accepts labels or silk screening easily. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws that thread into 6-32 UNC holes; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in), or 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with a gasket.

The drawing shows outside dimensions of 112.40 x 60.50 x 31.00 mm and inside dimensions of 107.05 mm long, 55.45 mm wide and 27.00 mm high. Listed maximum P.C. board dimensions are 53.45 mm and 105.05 mm, helped by a side wall draft angle of 2° or less. Shipping weight is 0.32 lbs (0.15 kg).

Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. To reach IP65, add the optional 1590BGASKET gasket kit together with water-tight screws.
