The 1590BXFL is an unpainted diecast aluminum enclosure whose lid carries an integrated wall-mounting flange. The lid becomes the mounting face, and the 254 x 70 x 50 mm (10 x 2.76 x 1.95 in) box body hangs from it. It is aimed at engineers and integrators who need a long, slim metal housing that bolts straight to a wall, panel or equipment frame.
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine for connectors, switches and displays. The natural finish is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54 as supplied.

Tighten the lid screws to 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in), or 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with a gasket installed. The optional 1590BXGASKET kit upgrades the box to IP65; the factory water-tight version is 1590WBXFL. The 1590BXFL is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.9 lbs (0.41 kg), and STEP or IGES solid models are available.
