The 1590CBK is the textured black version of the 119 x 94 x 56 mm (4.7 x 3.7 x 2.22 in) 1590C diecast aluminum enclosure. It is intended for electronics builders who want a finished, painted metal case straight out of the pack, with no mounting flanges on the box or lid.
Its finish is a tough polyester powder paint that holds up even after machining, so holes for jacks, switches and displays can be added without the coating flaking away. Black screws are included to match. The diecast aluminum alloy box and lid meet at a lap joint for protection against dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54.

Four 6-32 UNC cover screws fasten the lid into factory-tapped holes; tighten to 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in), or 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with a gasket. For IP65, the listed gasket kit is 1590BBGASKET and the water-tight version is 1590WCBK. The 1590CBK weighs 0.62 lbs (0.28 kg) shipped and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
