Hammond 1589T48C1 48-Inch 8-Outlet Vertical PDU, L5-20P Plug

The 1589T48C1 is a 48 in. long vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC, with eight NEMA 5-20R receptacles and a power indicator (pilot) light instead of an on/off switch. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical installers powering equipment in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, and it can also be mounted horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, giving a rugged but light weight assembly at a 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg) shipping weight. The finish is Natural; a black finish is available in this series upon request. The strip length is 48.00 in (1219 mm), with an overall assembly length of 1231.19 mm [48.472 in] on the drawing and a 265.62 mm [10.458 in] first-outlet dimension; receptacles are 1 in. square and equally spaced over the length of the strip at 127.00 mm [5.000 in] typical spacing.

All eight outlets face the front (no rear outlets), and the unit includes a resettable 20 Amp circuit breaker. Power input is a heavy duty 12 gauge, 12/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges with an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug, 6 ft long. Operating temperature range is -20 °C to +60 °C.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the 1589T48C1; additional hardware kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts.

The series is UL/cUL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14 (UL file E166039), RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
