Hammond 1589H70C124 70 in 24-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A L5-20P

The 1589H70C124 is a 70 in (1778 mm) vertical basic PDU from the Hammond 1589H-T Series, built for IT, AV and facilities teams that need single-phase 20A power distribution down the full height of a rack or cabinet. It is rated 20A at 120VAC (drawing rating: 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 20 Amps) and terminates in an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug on a 6 ft cord, so the connection stays seated in high-vibration or frequently serviced environments.

Power is delivered through 24 heavy-duty black NEMA 5-20R receptacles rated 20A/125V, equally spaced over the length of the strip. Each receptacle opening is 1 in square, and receptacle spacing on the drawing is 63.50 mm (2.500 in) typical. The unit includes an on/off rocker power switch and a resettable 20 Amp circuit breaker. The pilot-light version of this configuration is 1589T70C124.

Construction is a low-profile slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps in a natural finish, keeping the strip rugged but light at a 6 lbs (2.72 kg) shipping weight. Overall assembly dimensions on the drawing are 1789.86 mm (70.467 in) long by 41.05 mm (1.616 in) by 29.18 mm (1.149 in). The supply cord is heavy duty 12 gauge, 12/3 SJT, suited to a -20 C to +60 C operating range.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included for vertical installation in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or horizontally above a work bench; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, and sufficient depth must be allowed behind the rear rails for vertical mounting. 1589H70C124 is UL/cUL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases in the USA, and manufactured in North America.
