Hammond 1589H36D1 36" 6-Outlet 20A Vertical PDU, L5-20P Cord

The 1589H36D1 is a 36 inch vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC single-phase, fitted with six 20A/125V NEMA 5-20R single T-slot receptacles. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical installers who need straightforward, unmetered power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or mounted horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile anodized aluminum extrusion case with ABS plastic ends, giving a rugged but light weight assembly. Overall strip length is 36.00 in (914 mm); the drawing shows an assembly length of 926.39 mm [36.472 in] with a 919.48 mm [36.200 in] case and a body cross-section of 41.05 mm [1.616 in]. Receptacles are 1 in square and equally spaced over the length of the strip, all six facing the front, on 127.00 mm [5.000 in] centres. Colour is natural (black finish available upon request from the manufacturer).

This version carries an on/off rocker switch plus a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker; the equivalent pilot-light version is 1589T36D1. Power input is a heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord, 15 ft long, with an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug suited to extreme temperature ranges. Operating temperature range is -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C. There is no surge protection, no metering, no cord shielding and the unit is not hospital grade.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with each 1589H36D1 strip; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The product is UL/cUL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
