Hammond 1583T6A1BKAM 1U Metered Rack PDU, 6 Rear 5-15R Outlets

The 1583T6A1BKAM is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU rated 15 A at 125 VAC, 60 Hz, with six rear-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets and a built-in red LED ammeter. It is intended for IT, AV and OEM installations where equipment is powered from the rear of a rack or cabinet and the technician wants a quick visual read of the load current on the strip. Instead of a rocker switch, this version uses a red power indicator (pilot) light, so there is no switch to be knocked off accidentally.

Construction is painted steel front and back in a black finish, matching the RAL9005 black powder coat option in the 1583 series, which complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high — 1.718 in (43.64 mm) on the assembly drawing — by 19.00 in (482.60 mm) wide by 2.66 in (67.58 mm) deep, and shipping weight is 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg).

Power is supplied through an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug on a 6 ft heavy-duty 14/3 SJT cord suited to extreme temperature ranges. A resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker on the front panel guards against accidental overload. The ammeter uses 0.37 in high red LED digits in a 1.38 in x 0.88 in display with ±0.1 Amp accuracy.
