Hammond 1555VAF42GY 240x161x62mm Deep ABS Flanged Watertight Box

The 1555VAF42GY is the deeper ABS version of the 1555VAF enclosure, built for installations that need more component height than the 37 mm model allows. It is a RAL7035 grey, flanged, watertight plastic enclosure aimed at controls builders and electronics OEMs mounting circuit boards, panels or DIN rail devices indoors.

Not including flanges it measures 9.45 in x 6.34 in x 2.44 in (240 mm x 161 mm x 62 mm); the drawing gives an assembled height of 62.20 mm [2.45 in] and an overall flange-to-flange length of 280.00 mm [11.02 in]. Inner box depth is 42.00 mm [1.65 in] and inner lid depth 11.80 mm [.46 in]. The lid carries a 208.00 x 152.00 mm recessed inlay for a membrane keypad or label.

A two-piece tongue and groove lid with a one-piece silicone gasket (shipped loose, not pre-installed) protects against oil, dust and water. The lid closes with six included M4 stainless steel machine screws running into corrosion resistant inserts; recommended torque is 60-100 cN-m [5.31-8.85 lbf-in]. Replacement M4 x 20 mm screws are SC576-50.

The ABS body is tested to IP66, has an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and a UL94-HB flammability rating, and is recommended for -20°C to +60°C indoor use; it is not UL listed. Molded standoffs accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws, DIN rail tabs are molded into the lid, and the 1554VAPL steel inner panel fits this size. The UL listed polycarbonate counterpart is 1555VA2F42GY.
