Hammond 1555VAF17GY 240x161x37mm ABS Flanged Watertight Enclosure

The 1555VAF17GY is a low-profile, flanged plastic enclosure from the 1555F series, molded in general purpose ABS with a satin RAL7035 grey finish. It suits OEM engineers and panel builders housing printed circuit boards, small panels or DIN rail mounted components in indoor installations where dust, oil and water protection is needed.

The body measures 9.45 in x 6.34 in x 1.46 in (240 mm x 161 mm x 37 mm) not including flanges; with its wall-mounting flanges the overall length reaches 280.00 mm [11.02 in]. The drawing shows an inner box depth of 17.00 mm [.67 in] and an inner lid depth of 11.80 mm [.46 in]. A smooth recessed inlay on the lid, 208.00 x 152.00 mm and 2.00 mm deep, accepts a membrane keypad or label.

Sealing comes from a gasketed lid with two-piece tongue and groove construction and a one-piece preformed silicone gasket, supplied loose inside the enclosure. Six included M4 stainless steel lid screws thread into corrosion resistant inserts for repeated opening, with a recommended torque of 60-100 cN-m [5.31-8.85 lbf-in]. Because the lid screws sit behind the lid, the interior stays secure once wall mounted.

Inside, standoffs accept #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws (1555TS100), DIN rail tabs are molded into the lid, and the 1554VAPL steel inner panel is available separately. The polycarbonate, UL listed equivalent is 1555VA2F17GY; replacement gaskets are 1554VAGASKET.
