The 1555VA2F17GY is the low-profile polycarbonate enclosure in the VA size of the 1555F Series, with a flanged base for wall mounting. It is designed for harsh industrial or outdoor applications such as security, outdoor wireless and controls where a wide, shallow housing suits the board or DIN rail layout.
The series table lists 9.45 x 6.34 x 1.46 in (240 x 161 x 37 mm) not including flanges; the part page lists 9.45 x 6.3 x 1.46 in (240 x 160 x 37 mm). The drawing shows 280.00 mm [11.02 in] overall length with flanges, 258.00 mm [10.16 in] flange hole spacing, 37.20 mm [1.46 in] assembled height, 17.00 mm [.67 in] inner box depth and 11.80 mm [.46 in] inner lid depth. The lid inlay is 208.00 mm [8.19 in] by 152.00 mm [5.98 in].
Polycarbonate versions are UV stabilized for outdoor use, carry UL94-5VA (gray), are cUL and UL 508A listed under file #E65324 and have been independently tested to IP66, IP67 and IP68 and NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13. They are IK08 impact rated per IEC 62262:2021 and recommended for -40°C to +110°C (-40°F to +230°F).
The lid seals with a two-piece tongue and groove joint and one-piece silicone gasket supplied loose. The drawing calls for 6 cover screws and a cover screw torque of 60-100 cN-m [5.31-8.85 lbf-in]; the M4 stainless steel screws thread into corrosion resistant inserts behind the lid.
