The 1555GGY is the general purpose ABS version of the 1555G size in Hammond's 1555 Series: a light gray (RAL 7035) watertight enclosure measuring 120 x 90 mm with an 81 mm total height. It suits designers housing printed circuit boards or DIN rail mounted components in indoor settings.
The ABS material carries a UL94 HB flame rating and is intended for indoor use. This version is not UL listed, but it has been tested to and meets IP66, and it has an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021. Recommended operating temperature is -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F). Where a UL listed or outdoor-rated box is needed, the polycarbonate equivalent is 1555G2GY.
Inside dimensions are 112.39 x 78.39 mm with 72.00 mm of height, and the maximum P.C. board size is 77.47 x 108.41 mm. Mounting options include molded DIN rail tabs, M3 integral brass inserts, standoffs for #6 self-tapping screws, vertical card guides for 1.5 mm boards and the optional 1554FPL steel inner panel.
A styled lid gives a smooth recessed area for a label or membrane keypad. The lid closes on a tongue and groove joint with a loose-supplied, replaceable silicone gasket and four self captivating M4 stainless steel screws (43-57 ozf-in / 30-40 cN-m recommended). The 1555GGY ships shrink wrapped at 0.44 lbs (0.20 kg).
