Hammond 1554VALGY 240x160x60mm Gray Abs IP66 Watertight Enclosure

The 1554VALGY is the general purpose ABS version of this 240 x 160 x 60 mm size, molded in light gray (RAL 7035) with a gray ABS lid. It is intended for indoor use, giving designers and installers a gasketed, screw cover box for PC boards and DIN rail components at a lower material grade than the polycarbonate models.

Outside it measures 9.45 x 6.30 x 2.36 in; the drawing gives inside dimensions of 232.35 x 152.35 x 53.30 mm. Boards up to 145.5 x 226.82 mm can be fitted, and the interior includes molded DIN rail tabs, vertical card guides for 1.5 mm PC boards, M3 brass inserts and standoffs for #6 self-tapping screws. The 1554VAPL steel inner panel is ordered separately.

ABS versions are molded from general purpose material with a UL94-HB flammability rating. They are not UL listed, but have been tested to and meet IP66, carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021, and have a recommended operating temperature of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).

A tongue and groove gasketed lid is secured with six included stainless steel M4 screws, self-captivating and threaded into corrosion resistant inserts, with a recommended torque of 71-85 ozf-in (50-60 cN-m). The replaceable silicone gasket ships loose inside. Four 4.50 mm mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel and also fit the 1554FT foot kit. The 1554VALGY ships shrink wrapped at 1.01 lbs (0.46 kg).
